Welcome!

The Saint Joseph Home and School Association (HASA) is organized for the purpose of supporting the education of children at Saint Joseph Grade School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers. HASA does this through:

• Providing student services and benefits
• Teacher appreciation events and activities
• Community building events
• Fundraisers

Membership in HASA includes all school parents and faculty. Saint Joseph is a vibrant environment that thrives because of the stewardship provided from its school families and through parent involvement. All Saint Joseph Grade School parents are expected to take part in some volunteer activity on behalf of the school. There are many ways each parent can participate: HASA has over 30 committees and events that need parent support – some are one-time events, some are ongoing – thus making it possible for families with varied schedules to contribute.

Please refer to this website for information regarding HASA news and volunteer opportunities. Each spring we ask parents to consider volunteering for the HASA Board and Committee Chair positions. The role of the HASA Board (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) is to coordinate all of the programs sponsored by the Home and School Association.

Committees

Please view this linked list of committee descriptions to determine the best way you can contribute your time and talent. Sign-ups for committees and other volunteer opportunities are communicated in the weekly school newsletter throughout the year as each event approaches. We use the online tool SignupGenius to manage volunteering. While you don’t need an account to signup, we recommend you do login so that you can edit or swap your sign-ups if need be.

Committee Chairs: The majority of the work of a chair is done behind the scenes organizing the event and coordinating volunteers via SignupGenius and email. Most committees culminate in a one-time event. If you are interested in chairing an event or program, please contact the HASA leadership!
