St. Joe Families and Friends, the season of giving is here! Together we can support our awesome school and our hardworking teachers and staff…all in support of providing the best Catholic education possible for our students!

Our Giving Tuesday goal is $10,000. And, guess what? Our very own SJGS teachers kickstarted the giving this year and have donated $841 towards our goal.

Prizes will be awarded to the grade* that raises the most money and the grade with highest percent participation. The prizes include a pizza party, free dress-down day, extra recess, or a student vs. teacher competition.

Giving begins today, Wednesday, November 15, and runs through Giving Tuesday, November 28, at 11:59pm.

SJGS principal, Mrs. Melissa Green, on the vision for the SJGS Excellence Fund this year:

As our administration, teachers, and parish staff set out to implement our newly published strategic plan, multiplying our school’s resources is more important than ever.

Our hope is for SJGS to be the most attractive opportunity for Catholic educators at all stages of their careers. There is so much that we can boast of when recruiting new teachers: the vibrant, flourishing partnership between our school and parish; a joyful, faithful community led by priests who are actively engaged in our school; students who outperform their peers in many academic areas; and a beautiful preschool and daycare right across the street.

But what if we could broaden and deepen the professional trajectory of not only new but veteran teachers at St. Joe? What an impact it would have if we could capitalize on the skills and commitment of our master teachers and elevate them to more mentoring and instructional coaching roles or lighten their teaching loads to better invest in their professional and personal passions as educators! How wonderful it would be for our students to have even more opportunities to excel through the addition of a math teacher for an accelerated math track or a music teacher for an instrumental music program! These are the kinds of dreams for growth and expansion that the SJGS Excellence Fund can fuel.

Thank you for your generosity on this Giving Tuesday. May St. Joseph, our humble patron, intercede for our teachers and students in all that they do to make God known, loved, and served.

*Contributions made by one family will be equally divided among all children’s grades.
