Monday, March 29 – Holy Thursday, April 1
Eric’s Promise is a Saint Joseph Grade School Lenten tradition to fill blue bags full of toiletries for the St. Vincent DePaul Center on Crescent Ave. Eric’s Promise is a program that honors Eric Henry, a Marian High School student who died in a car accident in 2002. His Lenten promise was to be more generous to the poor. Eric had gathered some of his clothing to donate but was never able to deliver them. Eric’s family and friends made sure his clothing was donated to St. Vincent De Paul, and the tradition has continued ever since.
At 2:00pm on Holy Thursday, SJGS homerooms will deliver donated items collected during Holy Week to the SVDP truck parked outside our school. Thank you for the generosity of all who contribute and help with this annual Lenten initiative, as our students act to make God known, loved, and served.
