Dear Saint Joseph's Families and Friends!
As many of you are aware, the Scrip Program offers our organization the opportunity to establish an ongoing means of raising funds without asking supporters to spend any more money than they already do in their daily routine. Instead of asking you to spend additional money on items you may not want or need, Scrip enables you to help our fundraising efforts whenever you make your normal, everyday purchases. Scrip consists of gift certificates from local and national merchants and is used in their stores just like cash. When the certificates are purchased from our organization, our school earns a percentage of every purchase made with Scrip. In essence, local and national merchants are rewarding your loyalty by making contributions back to our school! Now, money that will be spent anyway is generating financial support for our organization's programs, computers, audio/visual equipment, and various building needs. The Great Lakes Scrip Center currently has relationships with over 250 local and national merchants. Merchants currently contribute between 2 and 25 percent of everything purchased with Scrip to our organization. You can help generate substantial cash flow for our school every time Scrip is used for grocery shopping, drugstore, gasoline, department store and mall purchases; or even at restaurants. This profit becomes an automatic source of revenue without costing you anymore than you are already spending! Here's how it works: Each family is required to pay a $200 technical fee every year.* You can offset this fee by generating $200 in profits from buying Scrip. For example, if you purchase $125 of Martin's Scrip per week for 40 weeks, you will generate $200 in profits. ($125 x 40 weeks = $5,000; $5,000 @4% profit = $200). The SCRIP year runs April 1st through March 31st of the current school year. It is just that simple! On the Downloads page, please find the lists of local and national Scrip that we currently carry in stock and those that we can special order from our Great Lakes Scrip Center supplier. We encourage special orders and will need to receive yours on Mondays by 9:00 a.m. when we place our school's order from the Great Lakes Scrip Center. During the school year, in stock orders can be sent home with your child on the same day. Special orders will be sent home by that following Thursday (3-day time frame). Mid year letters will be sent out during the first week in October 2005 to remind everyone of their profits generated to date. |
