2007 - 2008 Hot Lunch Program

1. What is the Hot Lunch Program?
Every Monday St. Joseph School offers one of the following hot lunches:

Pizza
1 slice of Little Caesar's pizza (healthy dessert provided by room parent.
Chicken Nuggets 5 Tyson chicken tenders with pretzels and 1 other item.
Extra chicken nuggets can also be ordered.
Hot Dog 1 hot dog with chips and 1 cookie.
Extra hot dogs can also be ordered.
Subway 1 x 6" Subway sandwich (turkey/provolone, ham/swiss, or cold cut combo) with chips and 1 cookie.
Tacos 2 soft-shelled tacos with ice cream dessert.

2. How do I order?
The first week of each month an order form will go home with your child for the next month’s lunches. The due date for the Hot Lunch order is printed at the top of the order form and will also be on your monthly calendar. (Example: October Hot Lunch Order forms will go home the week of September 4th and will be due September 22nd.) Fill out an order form for each child, however you may write a check for all of your children’s Hot Lunch orders. Putting the Hot Lunch orders with your payment in an envelope marked “Hot Lunch” seems to work the best. Extra order forms can be picked up at the office or online at the Downloads page.

3. What if my child is not in school on a Monday we ordered a hot lunch?
We are no longer able to save the lunch for your child. St. Joseph School has to pay for all of the pre-ordered lunches, so we are not able to refund your money.

4. How has St. Joseph School benefited from the profits made from the Hot Lunch Program?
Here are a few of the benefits the Hot Lunch Program has provided during the 2005-2006 school year:
» Money towards buses - defrays the cost to parents and HASA
» Literature for classroom use
» A/V materials
» Author visit (Louise Borden)
» HealthWorks for grades 5-8 (partial cost - HASA also contributed)
» 6th Grade retreat
» 8th Grade Chicago trip
» Professional Development (four teachers)
