The Bridges Lab seeks to develop better learning skills and abilities in children through individualized activity plans with the goals of:
- Increasing the child's ability to work for longer periods of time
- Increasing confidence
- Increasing self-esteem
- Increasing the child's comfort in the classroom
- Increasing the child's control over his or her behavior
Students are screened and assessed to determine their strengths and weaknesses and individual plans are generated. Students then attend the lab for 45-50 minutes twice a week until they successfully complete their plans. Exercises and activities are designed to strengthen their focusing skills, integrate their sensory skills, and train their learning skills.
